Jason Leonard OBE (England Rugby Union Legend) 

Jason is the most capped player in the history of English rugby union with 114 caps. He won the World Cup with England in 2003 and also played 5 times for the British and Irish Lions. His distinguished 15 year club career saw him represent Barking, Saracens and Harlequins. 

1. How are you keeping fit and busy during lockdown?

Gentle exercise and plenty of walking during lockdown, also being careful regarding my diet.

2. What are you missing most during lockdown?

Interaction with people! Meeting up with them and chatting.

3. Which country (or place) did you most enjoy touring?

South Africa to me was one of my favourite places to tour. Tough rugby and great hospitality from my hosts.

4. Who was the best player you played against?

Too many to mention.

5. Who was the best player you played on the same team as?

Same as above!

6. What was your favourite moment in your career?

I've been lucky to have had a few highlights. Playing for my junior rugby club Barking, playing for Saracens, Harlequins, England and the British and Irish Lions.

7. Who was your childhood idol?

When I was young it was a golden period for boxing so Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns, all those guys.

 

8. How do you think life will change when the lockdown restrictions are lifted?

I'll try not to to go back to what I was like before lockdown, impatient and always in a rush.
